On March 24, the launch meeting for the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation International Border Inspection Station Food and Drug Import and Export and Transit Inspection Integration and Coordination Project was held in Luang Prabang. This project is a Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund project. Zhang Sheping, Consul General of China in Luang Prabang, Bounsou, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Health of Laos, and representatives from the health, foreign affairs, agriculture and forestry, and customs departments attended the meeting.

Zhang Sheping, in conjunction with the 15th Five-Year Plan outline, introduced the spirit of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (NPC and CPPCC), stating that the two sessions clearly proposed to promote the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative in a deeper and more practical way, injecting continuous momentum into the building of a community with a shared future for neighboring countries. He expressed his hope that this project would deepen Lancang-Mekong public health cooperation, help promote the coordinated advancement of border security and trade facilitation, and add luster to the new "golden decade" of Lancang-Mekong cooperation.
Laos expressed its gratitude for China's strong support and looked forward to the project promoting the digital and modern transformation of its food and drug supervision, creating a "smart border."

This two-day conference will focus on discussions regarding the standardization of food and drug regulation and customs clearance facilitation.
