Starting from November 20, 2025, foreigners coming to China can fill in the relevant information for entry online through channels such as the website of the National Immigration Administration of China, the government service platform, the "Immigration Bureau 12367" APP and WeChat (Alipay) mini-programs, and by scanning the entry card filling code on their mobile phones.
For foreigners who do not have the conditions to fill in the information online, they can scan the QR code with their mobile phones or use the on-site intelligent devices to fill in the entry information online when arriving at the entry-exit border inspection site at the Chinese port, or fill in the paper Foreigner's Entry Card.
The following seven types of foreigners are exempt from filling in the form: those holding the Foreigner's Permanent Residence ID Card of the People's Republic of China, those holding the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese nationality), those holding group visas or those who are eligible for group visa-free entry, those who transit directly for 24 hours without leaving the port area, those who enter and exit the country by cruise ship and return on the same cruise ship, those who enter through the express channel, and foreign employees of inbound and outbound transportation vehicles, etc.
