2. Consular district
According to the agreement reached between the governments of China and Laos, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Luang Prabang was officially opened on December 25, 2013. The consular district includes 6 provinces, namely Luang Prabang, Phongsali, Nantha, Bokeo, Oudomxay and Houaphan.
3. Main functions
Promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between the provinces in the consular district and China in the fields of humanities, economy and trade, culture, education, agriculture, tourism, etc. Handle consular documents such as passports, travel permits, visas, etc. Protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and legal persons in the consular district in accordance with the law, etc.
