On April 9, on the eve of the Lao New Year, Songkran, Consul General Zhang Sheping, along with representatives of the Consulate General in Luang Prabang, extended congratulations to Bounnhang Vorachith, Member of the Lao Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee. Also present were Khamla, Deputy Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee; Van Vilay, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Government; and officials from the Provincial Military Command, Public Security Department, and Foreign Affairs Department.

Zhang Sheping stated that under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and countries, China-Laos relations are at their best historical period. Luang Prabang Province maintains close exchanges with relevant provinces and cities in China, and Secretary Bounnhang Vorachith's recent visit to Yunnan Province yielded positive results. The Consulate General is willing to work with Luang Prabang Province to take the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and the "China-Laos Friendship Year" as an opportunity to continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation with China within the consular district and promote the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future.

Bonnhang Vorachith expressed his pleasure at achieving many practical results during his visit to Yunnan. Given the current complex and volatile international and regional situation, Luang Prabang Province is willing to uphold the "four good" spirit, strengthen cooperation with China, jointly organize a series of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and China, and contribute to building a China-Laos community with a shared future.
