On May 22, the 2nd China-Laos Friendship Festival "Friendship Cup" Badminton Tournament was successfully held in Luang Prabang. The event was guided by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Luang Prabang and hosted by the Luang Prabang Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Consul General Zhang Sheping, Deputy Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee Khamla, and Mayor Sawe attended the opening ceremony and served the first ball.

This tournament was one of the series of activities in the consular district celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and the "China-Laos Friendship Year." It innovatively adopted a cross-border doubles format between Chinese and Lao teams. Consul General Zhang Sheping and other consulate staff members partnered with Lao players to compete. The atmosphere on the court was warm and harmonious, with participants making friends through badminton and promoting friendship, fully demonstrating the spirit of "friendship first, competition second."

After the tournament, Consul General Zhang Sheping and guests presented awards to the champion, runner-up, and third-place winners.
