On June 3, Consul General Zhang Sheping led a delegation to Xianglong Village in Luang Prabang City to inspect the achievements of the first phase of the East Asia Poverty Reduction Demonstration Cooperation Project implemented by China and held a discussion with village representatives. Deputy Consul General Zhang Hequn, Luang Prabang Deputy Mayor Khamhu, and Xianglong Village Chief Pei, among others, participated.

Zhang Sheping stated that since the implementation of the first phase of the project, Xianglong Village has undergone a complete transformation. This is a vivid example of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important concepts of "targeted poverty alleviation" and "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" in Laos, and also an important achievement of China-Laos poverty reduction cooperation and the building of a community with a shared future. China and Laos are both socialist countries, and benefiting the people is the greatest political achievement. He believes that through joint efforts, the lives of the villagers in Xianglong Village will continue to improve.

The Lao side expressed its gratitude for China's generous assistance and stated that, with China's support, it will enhance its capacity for independent development and promote greater achievements in poverty reduction.
