On July 29, on the eve of the August 1st Army Day, Consul General Zhang Sheping met with Commander Thongla of the Luang Prabang Provincial Military Command, who had come to the consulate to congratulate the Chinese People's Liberation Army on its 99th anniversary.

Zhang Sheping stated that under the absolute leadership of the Party, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has made immortal contributions to national independence, prosperity, and the peace and tranquility of the people. The Chinese and Lao armies fought side-by-side against foreign enemies in the past and have long worked together to safeguard regional peace and stability. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos and is also the "China-Laos Friendship Year." The Consulate General is willing to work with the Luang Prabang Provincial Military Command to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, and contribute to building an all-weather China-Laos community with a shared future in the new era.

On behalf of the Luang Prabang Provincial Military Command, Thongla presented a flower basket to express congratulations and stated that the Chinese People's Liberation Army is continuously building itself into a regular, modern, and world-class military. The Luang Prabang Provincial Military Command will follow the "16-character" guideline for Lao-China relations, uphold the "four good" spirit, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries, and contribute to the building of an all-weather Lao-China community with a shared future in the new era.
