On August 25, Zhang Hequn, Acting Consul General in Luang Prabang, held working talks with Luang Prabang provincial and municipal agricultural and environmental departments on promoting poverty reduction and development cooperation. The main persons in charge of the agricultural and environmental protection departments of Lang Province and Municipality and the heads of the three poverty alleviation project villages attended the meeting.

Zhang Hequn said that poverty reduction, development and rural revitalization are related to people's livelihood and well-being, and both the Chinese and Lao governments attach great importance to it. Tingsong Village, Xianglong Village, and Penghong Village in Lang Province are villages under the China-Laos Poverty Reduction and Development Cooperation Project. Since the implementation of the project, infrastructure and livelihood development have continued to improve, and villagers' capacity building has continued to improve. It is hoped that the results of the project will be consolidated and help build an all-weather China-Laos community with a shared future in the new era. Laos thanks China for its long-term support and expresses its willingness to work with China to promote the construction of the three project villages so that poverty reduction and development cooperation can achieve more practical results and benefit more people.
The two parties reached a consensus on establishing a liaison mechanism at the provincial, municipal and village levels to strengthen villagers' participation and enhance capacity building.
